The Stone Font dated 1860 was part of the original St Paul’s church building.

It was presented by Captain John William Jones of Fulham.

The first child to be baptised in the Font was Ernest William, the son of Captain and Mrs. Jones on 21st March, 1860.

It was brought to the new St Paul’s and is still in regular use.

In 1929 it was placed in what we now have as the double glass entrance doorway.

It spent a short time near the Organ ‘up front’ then returned to the rear of the church, firstly in the corner then the centre of the S. W. area in 1992.

At one stage the ‘marble look’ was ‘resurfaced’.

In 2007 it was moved to its present position.
